چکیده

Some years ago Donovan and Wilson concluded that carrier motion on a single chain of the quasi-one-dimensional polymer crystal PDA-TS exhibits highly unusual features. From the electric field dependence of the peak photocurrent and carrier generation rate they concluded that carriers had an ultra-high mobility and a low-field saturated drift velocity. We report new measurements in the time-dependent domain and at the same time propose a transport model to explain the data. We show that both the tr"decay law and the sublinear field scaling of the effective drift velocity can be associated with one and the same phenomenon: one-dimensional carrier drift in the presence of strongly scattering defects.

Field Dependent Charge Carrier Transport for Organic Semiconductors at the Time of Flight Configuration

In this paper, we used the time-of-flight (TOF) of a charge packet, that injected by a voltage pulse to calculate the drift velocity and mobility of holes in organic semiconducting polymers. The technique consists in applying a voltage to the anode and calculating the time delay in the appearance of the injected carriers at the other contact. The method is a simple way to determine the charge t...

Modeling anomalous charge carrier transport in disordered organic semiconductors using the fractional drift-diffusion equation

Anomalous transport is ever-present in many disordered organic semiconductor materials. The long-tail behavior observed in the transient photocurrent is a manifestation of anomalous transport. Owing to the fact that anomalous transport has dispersive and non-Gaussian transport dynamics, thus anomalous transport cannot be adequately described by the standard drift-diffusion equation which is a f...

Anomalous low-temperature and high-field magnetoresistance in the organic superconductor b9-„BEDT-TTF...2SF5CH2CF2SO3

We report direct observations of anomalous magnetic-field and temperature dependences of the Shubnikov–de Haas oscillations in the organic superconductor b9-(BEDT-TTF)2SF5CH2CF2SO3. Unlike other BEDT-TTF based organic superconductors, a nonmetallic temperature dependence of the background magnetoresistance is clearly observed. It is speculated that the nonmetallic behavior may arise from a part...

Inverse spin Hall effect and anomalous Hall effect in a two-dimensional electron gas

We study the coupled dynamics of spin and charge currents in a two-dimensional electron gas in the transport diffusive regime. For systems with inversion symmetry there are established relations between the spin Hall effect, the anomalous Hall effect and the inverse spin Hall effect. However, in two-dimensional electron gases of semiconductors like GaAs, inversion symmetry is broken so that the...

Limitation and Diameter Effects on Carrier Drift Velocity in Carbon Nanotubes

Due to the chemical stability and perfection of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) structure, carrier mobility is not affected by processing and roughness scattering as it is in the conventional semiconductor channel. Therefore, CNTs are being considered as viable candidates for high-speed applications. The mobility and saturation velocity are the two important parameters that control the charge transport...
